PURPOSE:To obtain a stable brake force through reducing wear quantity and little dropping of a frictional coefficient when used under a high temperature by using for a bonding material resin consisting of condensed polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbon. CONSTITUTION:Asbestos or steel fiber is used for a base material, black lead or the like for a lubricant material and barium sulfate or the like for a filler material, and condensed polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbon such as pyrene/P- xylene glycocholic resin or the like is used for a bonding material of these. After these have been mixed and pressurized preliminarily under a normal temperature, a brake frictional material is made through being formed and hardened by heating and pressurization. Accordingly, there is little generation of gas and little dropping of a frictional coefficient in spite of thermal decomposition when used under a high temperature, and an ignition temperature becomes high and safety is heightened and wear quantity is reduced due to the resin of the bonding material acting as the lubricant material, and a stable brake force is obtained.
