PURPOSE:To faithfully reproduce a lit of image information on a recording material independently at the spacing speed of the recording material by controlling an exposing time so that the exposing time by one line is proportional to the inverse of the spacing speed. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive body 102 is continuously spaced by a spacing motor 141. When a picture signal 102 is inputted, a control part 109 computes a control signal corresponding to the density level of each picture element on a picture based on the signal 108, executes a correction removing influence caused by the variation of the spacing speed and generates a signal specifying the position of the image. Namely, the exposing time by one line is controlled so as to be proportional to the inverse of the spacing speed and a recording signal is controlled so that exposure at every picture element is fixed. A control signal outputted from the control part 109 allows to impress a voltage corresponding to the density level of the picture to each shutter part 107 to control the quantity of light transmitted through the shutter part 107.
