Angled balloon dilatation catheter (11) having a flexible elongate tubular member (12) with first and second lumens (13, 14) extending therethrough and with proximal and distal extremities. An angled balloon (21) is carried by the distal extremity of the tubular member (12). The elongate tubular member (12) has a tubular element (16) extending through the balloon (21). The first lumen (13) extends through the tubular element (16) and is capable of receiving a guide wire (31) so that the guide wire (31) extends therethrough. The second lumen (14) is in communication with the interior of the angled balloon (21) for inflating and deflating the balloon (21). The balloon (21) subtends a predetermined interior angle.
