PURPOSE:To supply toner to a photosensitive drum uniformly by mounting a cylindrical thin-film member on a developing roller, pressing the developing roller against a photosensitive drum by a guide member, and bringing the thin- film member into gentle contact with the photosensitive drum. CONSTITUTION:The cylindrical thin-film member 11 is mounted on the developing roller 10 and pressed against the photosensitive drum 100 by the guide member 9 (composed of a pressure part 9a and an abutting part 9b) and a press-contacting blade 12. This thin-film member 11 has peripheral length longer than the outer peripheral length of the developing roller 10 and when the developing roller 10 is pressed against the photosensitive drum 100, a space part S is formed between the thin-film member 11 and developing roller 10. Then, the thin-film member 11 is brought into stable contact with the outer peripheral surface of the photosensitive drum 100 with low contacting pressure by the space part S. Then toner T0 is stuck uniformly on the surface of the thin-film member 11 and rotated as shown by an arrow B to develop a latent image on the photosensitive drum 100. Thus, the thin-fim member is brought into stable contact with the photosensitive drum 100 with the low contacting pressure, so the toner can be supplied uniformly and an excellent image is obtained. |
