发明名称 MEASUREMENT OF CRACKING IN PIPING USING ULTRASONIC FLAW DETECTION
摘要 PURPOSE:To check for possible cracking and determine the shape and dimensions thereof, by analyzing and processing that signal with a microcomputer which is obtained by moving an ultrasonic probe axially and circumferentially along a piping. CONSTITUTION:Signals from various sensors 1 (a head rotation detecting limit switch, axial limit switch, rotation detector, axial movement detector and obstacle limit switch) are amplified with an amplifier 2 and fetched into a microcomputer 6 through an A/D converter 5. This signal is processed with the microcomputer 6 and a movement instruction signal is sent to a driver 10 to move a UT sensor 3 on the driver 10 spirally along the wall surface of a piping. After being processed with an ultrasonic flaw detector 4, a signal from the UT sensor 3 is fetched into the microcomputer 6 through an A/D converter 5. Then, a data is processed with the microcomputer 6 to check for possible cracking and calculate the shape and dimensions thereof, and the results are outputted to an output unit 7 while being stored into a memory 8.
