The subject of the present invention is devices for bidirectional transmission between databuses applicable especially to coupled vehicles. It is characterised in that transmitter EM/receiver REC units associated with each of the buses between which the data are to be transmitted are arranged face to face, each transmitter EM cooperating with the receiver REC facing it, the two units cooperating with a clearance between them and each comprising circuits for separating the data depending on their direction of transmission, the INFO data, INFO from a bus being steered towards the transmitter EM of the corresponding unit for transmission to the receiver REC of the facing unit then to the bus for which the transmission of the data is intended, the transmission in the reverse direction by the other transmitter EM and the other receiver REC then being interrupted and being resumable when the transmission in the first direction ceases. Application to the transmission of data between coupled vehicles and in particular to tractor/trailer units. <IMAGE>
