<p>The flow regulating valve has the inlet (2) of it's valve body (1) attached to the outlet of a continuously running engine driven pump (3). The piston valve slides within the body, it's position controlled by a diaphragm (15) to which it is connected (9) through a sealed (11) end (10). The position of the diaphragm is controlled by a spring (18) and atmospheric pressure on one side and a pressure (13) controlled by a driver operated brake lever (107) on the other. Decrease in the pressure (13) causes the valve (8) to move downwards, restricting the pump outlet and so pressurising the brake system through a parallel pump outlet.</p> |
