The fermentation chamber according to the invention is noteworthy in that: a) the framework is formed of two inverted, U-shaped half-elements (1a) connected by two transverse longitudinal members 1b, so that loading and unloading of breadmaking masses may take place on both sides; b) at a certain point on the frame there is provided an unloading device 4 which gives rise to the trans-shipping of the breadmaking masses from the corresponding trough to the next trough or a belt for conveying the said breadmaking masses; c) the transmission chains are positioned in the framework exclusively by two sets of gears 2-3 an upper gear and a lower gear, mounted in the framework; d) the drive chain receives its rotational movement in one direction or the other by direct action of the motorised reduction unit 9 on one of the aforementioned gears. <IMAGE>
