Shut-off valves (6) of pipe conduits carrying a medium to be supplied have an external actuating handle (8) which must from time to time be secured by the supply company against unauthorised opening. In order to provide greater security against unauthorised opening of the shut-off valve, the valve lock consists of a cap (1) which is to be pushed over the external actuating handle (8) and secured against unauthorised removal by a lockable retaining pin (3). <IMAGE>
