The present invention relates to a prophylactic device of the condom or sheath type of tubular shape. This device is characterised in that it comprises two independent sheaths 1, 2, of tubular shape and closed at one end, which are assembled together coaxially and are solidly joined at their open ends, and in that a lubricant is provided between the two sheaths, advantageously over the whole of their surfaces in contact in order to facilitate relative movement of these sheaths. The invention finds an application in particular in the struggle against sexually transmitted diseases. <IMAGE>
