In a process for producing a sheet-like component reinforced by rovings, from polymer materials, in the case of various polymer materials an intimate bond is to be achieved between the rovings and the polymer material. It should be possible to lay the rovings in a simple manner corresponding to the intended loading of the component. A plurality of rovings are fed, in an extruder, distributed across the emergence cross-section of the annular or circular extruder die, to the melt of the polymer material. The profile-shaped extrudate thus produced, which includes the rovings, is deposited on a mould surface in a plurality of loops to form a deposition pattern. The deposited extrudate is pressed to form the component while still in the hot, plastic state.
