Method of transmitting data through a radiophone channel, transmitter and receiver for implementing this method. According to the invention, on transmission, the sub-carrier is modulated by the data to be transmitted (frequency, phase or amplitude), and the signal thus modulated is added to the multiplexed signal carrying the audio signal. On reception, a signal containing the transmitted digital information is extracted from a phase-lock loop.
