PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter evaluating method by which the concentrations of metal particles in the percolate can be accurately assayed to ultra-low levels and the particle removing performance of filters can be accurately evaluated.SOLUTION: A filter evaluating method comprises a filter passing step to obtain a percolate by passing a sample liquid containing metal particles in a medium through a filter to be evaluated; a scavenger passing step to pass the percolate through a metal particle scavenger having an ion exchange group; a recovering step to recover metal particles caught by the metal particle scavenger to prepare a solution; a detecting step to detect the quantity of metal particles in the solution by ICP-MS; and a calculating step to calculate, on the basis of the quantity of detected metal particles in the solution and the quantity of metal particles in the percolate obtained by passing liquid through the metal particle scavenger, the quantity of metal particles in the percolate obtained by passing liquid through the filter. The filter is evaluated on the basis of the calculated quantity of metal particles in the percolate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
