The circuit drawing is posted on oneside of the board and its mirror image is posted to the other side. Holes for the component leads are then pierced through the board by drilling or punching. The component leads are fed through the holes and a piece of foam-rubber is placed over the components to hold them in place. Then the board is inverted and the leads on the other side of the board are cut to length. To interconnect the components, wire is fed from a reel through the body of a tool. A spring-loaded fork brakes the reel for adjusting tension in the wire. A blade is actuated for cutting the wire to length.
