A method for filling a container 1 equipped with a filling mount 2 having a seat valve with liquid containing suspended particles, such as fruit juice, comprises filling the container in the first instance up to a small residual volume with unfiltered liquid from a lead 8 and then filling the residual volume via the seat valve with previously filtered liquid from a lead 9 in order to prevent the depositing of suspended particles on the valve seat. A device for performing the method can also be used for the filling-up of liquids which comprise two components and are only to be mixed during the filling process, by opening the first and second filling leads 8,9 simultaneously or consecutively. <IMAGE>
