In order to ensure quick adjustment and readjustment of the position of tool holders (18) on a basic body (10) of an indexable tool turret, an adjustable stop (24) is provided on the basic body (10) of the turret. The adjustable stop (24) interacts with an adjustable stop (16) of the tool holder (18). All fixed stops (24) attached to the basic body (10) of the turret are adjusted at their respective index positions to the same height with regard to the axis of rotation of the turret so that exact positioning of the tools is guaranteed when the stops (16) of the tool holders (18) are exactly adjusted in an external setting device with regard to the cutting edge of the relevant tool. <IMAGE>
