A coating layer in nuclear elements comprises a homogeneous mixt. of a liq. vehicle, a lubricating matrix, a getter intercalated and chemically bound into the matrix, and a binder. The getter is Zr, Y, Ti, Ce, Co, Ni, Cr, or a compd., alloy or mixt. thereof. The matrix is graphite or boron nitride. The binder is pref. aluminate or silicate. The vehicle is pref. isopropanol or acetone.
