Tris-(p-hydroxy-disubstituted phenyl) methanes of the formula wherein each R independently is hydrogen, halogen, or alkoxy, aryloxy or alkyl of up to 10 carbon atoms is prepared by contacting 2,6-disubstituted phenols with salicylaldehyde.
