The material consists of more or less finely milled granite and marble powder in proportions of 60:40 to 40:60 mixed with a binder pref. consisting of water and a caustic adhesive of low density to give a low density pasty mass. Decorative components of low specific gravity are then added, and the compsn. is moulded and treated by suitable methods.
