A thermoplastic resin compsn. comprises a polyphenylene oxide resin (I) and a copolymer (II) of 50-90 wt.% ethylene units, 5-49 wt.% units of an alkyl ester of an alpha-beta unsatd. carboxylic acid and 0.15-10 wt.% maleic anhydric units. - Pref. (I) is formed by oxidn. condensation of at least one mononuclear phenol which can be substd. by up to 4 halogen, hydrocarbyl or substd. hydrocarbyl groups. The compn. also contains an alkenyl aromatic resin and/or a rubbery polymer.
