Device for marking roads comprising a body 10 which can be placed in a position set below the plane of the road surface 16 and means 13 ensuring the reflection of incident light, characterised in that the body has a circular contour externally, in that the body comprises a passage opening formed across the plane of this contour and in that the means ensuring reflection comprise a reflector 13 extending all round the circumference of the opening and the reflecting surface of which corresponds to the enclosing surface of a mould designed to form an upturned truncated cone or an upturned truncated pyramid having corresponding characteristics of retro-reflection independent of the angle of incidence of the light coming from a vehicle's head lamp. <IMAGE>
