ELECTRODE BLOCK FOR D.C. ELECTRIC FURNACE

PURPOSE:To perform the repair and replacement of an anode surely and easily by integratedly forming an anode part through filling the surrounding of anode pins planted via a bottom plate with fire-proofing composition so as to be freely attached into the anode attachment hole at the central part of a hearth. CONSTITUTION:Anode pins 7 are inserted through an anode block bottom plate 11 and anode attachment plate made of metal and a steel made frame body 16 is planted on the periphery part of the bottom plate 11 so as to surround the pins 7. Between the frame body 16 and pins 7, fire-proofing composition is filled so as to integratedly form the frame body 16, pins 7 and fire-proofing composition 8. The anode block 5 is inserted into an anode part attachment hole opened to the central part of a hearth 4 and fixed to the hearth 4 by a block supporting device. With this arrangement, it is possible to previously manufacture the electrode block 5 in a factory and perform the repair and replacement thereof surely and easily.
