PURPOSE:To obtain the stable welded state by applying an external force to the rising face of an electrode pole after casting to form a flat face. CONSTITUTION:The pressure of about 1t/cm<2> is applied to the rising face of an electrode pole 1 extruded by a knockout pin 5 cast with a mold to correct a taper face into a flat face. When cells are to be connected via the through hole 7 of a bulkhead 6, the tip of an electrode 3 for resistance welding is brought into vertical contact with the rising face 2 of an electrode pole 1. The rising face 2 of the electrode pole 1 is formed low and thick in advance to make the rising face 2 of the electrode pole 1 thin after casting, thus the contact area of the khockout pin 5 separating the mold 4 and the electrode pole 1 can be sufficiently secured. The problem caused by the shape of the electrode pole 1 in the assembling process of the conventional lead battery is dissolved accordingly, the defective welding to connect cells is reduced, and the quality is improved. |
