The package e.g. for hamburgers consists of an upper (1) and a lower (2) cover which either clip together or fit together telescopically. The covers are made from an edible, unleavered bread which may be coloured, flavoured or spiced to match the type of food contained inside the package. The package walls are thin e.g. 1 millimetre and the covers are to be eaten by the consumer at the same time as the contents. ADVANTAGE - The edible container fully encloses the sauces and fillings that may be extruded from a hamburger as it is eaten and it reduces pollution caused by burning conventional plastics containers. |
