The invention relates to a circulating-air separator having an external ventilator. In order to improve the conditions for the separation, to reduce the energy requirement and to simplify the design, the separating air is fed to the separating space in such a manner that fittings for producing a rotationally symmetrical swirling flow inside the separating space are no longer necessary.
