PURPOSE: To separate water and dissolved water-soluble components in high yield by bringing the hydrocarbon stream to contact with a hollow fiber membrane consisting of a nonporous cuproammonium cellulose. CONSTITUTION: A filter device 10 is constituted by arranging the membrane 26 bundling the nonporous hollow fiber 28 consisting of the cuproammonium regenerated cellulose in a housing 12. A wet hydrocarbon gas (for example, a natural gas consisting essentially of methane) is made to flow in from a port 22 and made to flow along an outer wall of the fiber 28. On the other hand, a sweep stream consisting of a dry air is made to flow in from the port 18 and discharged from the port 20 through an inside of the fiber 28. The water and the dissolved water-soluble component in the wet hydrocarbon gas are diffused through the membrane 26 and removed continuously by the sweep stream. A dry hydrocarbon gas is discharged from the port 24. |
