The hydraulic motor (10) intended for turning suspended loads is acted upon by hydraulic fluid at its two hydraulic connections AR, BR via a 4/3-way directional control valve (12). Arranged between the working connections (A, B) of the directional control valve and the hydraulic connections of the hydraulic motor (10) are two valve groups (14, 14') of identical construction which ensure careful changing-over and reliable braking of the hydraulic motor (10) irrespective of the type of activation while actuating the directional control valve (12) and prevent undesirable racing of the motor. <IMAGE>
