A cosmetic composition which contains as active ingredient complex the constituents of bacterial cells is to be further developed so that the constituents of bacterial cells remain activated, the intention being to use the constituents of those bacterial cells which can be produced in large quantities in active form in a technologically simple manner. The bacteria which are to be used in particular are those which have a bioenergetic effect on the cells and therefore, besides the so-called repair effect, contribute to reinforcing the cosmetic effect. It is provided for this purpose according to the invention that the constituents of sulphur-free phototrophic bacterial cells be used.
