<p>PURPOSE:To precisely detect the throttling of the strip in its early stage by detecting abnormal change of an electric current generated from a main roll motor and reel motor caused by throttling the strip. CONSTITUTION:Based on forcing electric currents of right and left reels 7, 8, changing signals of accelerating, decelerating and holding operated by an operator and gamma ray thickness gage 9, modal dividing for the operation and stopping the function of the detector are performed. Further, while the electric current of the main roll motor or/and reel motor is detected, a decision reference value set previously and these electric currents are momentarily compared. When an electric current change exceeding the decision reference value is generated, proper actions such as releasing the roll of the mill or stopping the driving are performed to remove various damages on operating the multistage mill and to perform a smooth operation.</p> |
