PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine tool capable of segmenting surely and successively swarf generated from a workpiece, and preventing a bad influence to a workpiece processing surface by regulating a scattering direction of swarf just after segmentation so as not to hit on the workpiece processing surface; and to provide a control device of the machine tool.SOLUTION: A machine tool 100 has a constitution in which processing of a workpiece W is executed, while segmenting swarf by duplicating a cutting work part during forward movement of reciprocating vibration and a cutting work part during backward movement, and moving means for moving a cutting tool 130 in a direction crossing a cut direction relatively to the workpiece W is provided, in segmentation of the swarf.
