Provided are a communication cycle configuration method and device. The method comprises: acquiring, by a wireless communication node and from a core network control node, duration indication information corresponding to a terminal; generating, by the wireless communication node, configuration information comprising the duration indication information; and transmitting, by the wireless communication node, the configuration information to the terminal, the duration indication information being used for the terminal to set a duration indicated by the duration indication information as a wake-up cycle and perform a periodical wake-up. By employing an embodiment of the present invention, the wireless communication node can acquire, from the core network control node, the duration indication information corresponding to the terminal, acquire an accurate communication cycle set by the core network control node for the terminal based on service model information on a service application level, and configure the terminal with the acquired communication cycle, thus addressing the problem in which a data transmission time delay of the terminal is too long or a power consumption of the terminal increases caused by the wireless communication node setting the communication cycle for the terminal. |
