PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a spiral type separation membrane module where the permeation of an undesirable gas at an end part of the support of the spiral type separation membrane module is prevented and which is excellent in separation efficiency; a production method of the spiral type separation membrane module being excellent in separation efficiency; and the support suitably used for the module.SOLUTION: In a spiral type separation membrane module: a gas-permeable sheet whose width is narrower than the width of a reinforcing material sheet is positioned at the center part in a width direction of the reinforcing material sheet; and a support having a region where the reinforcing material sheet is exposed at both ends in a width direction of the support and a laminate provided with a separation membrane and a flow channel material positioned on the support are wound around a hollow center tube with holes.
