Thienoimidazol derivs. of formula (I) and their acceptable salts are prepared. In (I), A is (a)-(c); T is -S-, -SO- or -SO2-; R1 and R2 are each H, halogen, cyano, CF3, C1-6 alkyl, C1-6 hydroxyalkyl or C1-6 alkoxy; R3 is H, alkanoyl C1-6 alkylcarbamoyl; R4 and R5 are each H or C1-3 alkyl; R6 R7, R8 and R9 are each H, halogen, C1-12 alkyl or C1-12 alkoxy. (I) are useful as gastric acid secretion inhibitors.
