Method and apparatus for cleaning parts in which the parts are charged into an open topped trough container (1) and cleaning liquid is passed into the container from below (18) and allowed to leave by overflowing the top. After a certain time the flow of liquid is stopped and the liquid evacuated from the container from below. For each new charge the fluid is renewed. USE/ADVANTAGE - Esp. degreasing small parts. The dirt particles are floated to the top of the liquid and overflow with the liquid thereby preventing their resettlement on the parts. Different liquids can be used in succession without removing the parts.
