PURPOSE:To stably transmit high torque, by connecting a drive driving and a driven shafts to each other through a pair of spherical yokes so that coupling members are located on a plane perpendicularly intersecting another plane which contains the bisector of the angle of intersection of the axes of both the shafts and contains these axes. CONSTITUTION:A driving shaft 1 and a driven shaft 2 are connected to each other by spherical yokes 3, 4, liners 5 and pins 10 so that these shafts can rotate and the pins are located on a plane perpendicularly intersecting another plane which contains the bisector of the angle of intersection of the axes of the shafts and contains these axes. When the driving shaft 1 is to rotated by 90 deg. from the state that both the shafts 1, 2 are secured to each other at an angle theta, the torque is transmitted to the driven shaft 2 through the yoke 3, a sleeve 8, the pins 10, another sleeve 9, the other yoke 4 and a countershaft 11 and the sleeves are located in the central sections of grooves 6, 7. When the driving shaft 1 is further rotated by 90 deg., the sleeves 8, 9 are moved in the grooves 6, 7 to their other ends. According to this constitution, stable high torque is transmitted. |
