The invention relates to a method for producing a geopolymer foam comprising nanoparticles of a metal coordination polymer with CN ligands of formula [Alk+ x]Mn+[M'(CN)m]z- wherein Alk is an alkaline metal, x is 1 or 2, M is a transition metal, n is 2 or 3, M' is a transition metal, m is 6 or 8, and z is 3 or 4. The invention also relates to said geopolymer foam produced in this way and to the uses thereof, especially for trapping caesium or thallium.
