PURPOSE:To make it possible to facilitate the attachment and removal of a workpiece by use of an automatic grinder for large diameter glass panes or the like, by arranging a tank provided with a guide roller and a nozzle, rotatably around a rotary spindle. CONSTITUTION:After setting a program, when an automatic grinder is started, a rotary spindle 3 is shifted and lowered from the center of a workpiece 2 to a grind starting point on the peripheral surface 5 of the workpiece. A table 1 is moved in the X-and Y-axial directions in accordance with the shape of the workpiece 2, simultaneously with the starting of grinding of the peripheral surface 5 by a diamond grind stone 4 rotated by a drive motor 10, and therefore the outer periphery of the workpiece is ground. Further, the drive of a drive motor 31 causes a tank 14 to be rotated through the intermediary of a torque limiter 32, gears 33, 34, 20 so that a guide roller 24 is pressed against the peripheral surface 5 under a predetermined pressure set by the torque limiter 32. Therefore, grinding liquid 19 which has been fed into the tank 14 through a pipe 17 is jetted toward a position P to be polished on the workpiece 2 from a small hole in a nozzle 25 through a supply pipe 22. Thus, it is possible to surely supply grinding liquid and to facilitate the attachment and removal of the workpiece. |
