PURPOSE:To enable the detection accuracy of the slant of a sample image from the display coordinate to be increased by amplifying said slant by means of simle structure by providing one of an X and a Y direction deflecting member with a magnification controlling part which can control the magnification. CONSTITUTION:A sawteeth-like wave signal (SY) is created, when a change-over switch 17 is set to (a), from a signal obtained by controlling the magnification of a signal (VY) sent from a Y-direction sawteeth-like wave producing circuit 10 by means of a magnification-varying attenuator 12 before the controlled signal (AY) is amplified. When the change-over switch 17 is set to (b), the sawteeth-like wave signal (SY) is created from a signal obtained by controlling the magnification of a signal sent from the producing circuit 10 by means of a magnification attenuator 12 through a Y-direction magnification-varying attenuator 18 before the controlled signal is amplified. Here, the ratio of the X-direction magnification to the Y-direction magnification is adjusted to be constant by means of the magnification-varying attenuator 18. Thus, the magnification of the Y direction can be made different from that of the X direction by adjusting the magnification of the sawteeth-like wave signal (SY) to be different from that of a sawteeth-like wave signal (SX). |
