The invention relates to an extinguishing-agent container for a release barrier in underground mining for combating coal dust and/or fire-damp explosions. It is made of a brittle plastic or the like and is equipped with an explosive charge. In order to improve an extinguishing-agent container of the aforesaid type to the effect that, in the event of an incorrect release of the explosive charge of the same, persons in the surrounding area of the extinguishing-agent container are protected from flying splinters of the container, it is proposed according to the invention that the extinguishing-agent container (1) be completely surrounded by a net (5), the surface of which is dimensioned to be several times larger than that of the extinguishing-agent container (1). The net (5) is secured to the extinguishing-agent container (1) by means of bands of elastic material.
