The ventilation system for a combined freezer and refrigerator has a hollow housing (2) enclosing a fan (7). A suction opening (6a) at its rear allows cold air to be drawn in from a heat exchange zone. The front face of the housing (2) has a number of slits (5a) through which the cold air is fed to the freezer compartment. - The cold air is fed to the refrigeration compartment via a duct (20) leading from the rear wall of the housing (2). The fan (7) is enclosed by a tube coaxial to its rotary axis ensuring that the air drawn in flows parallel to the axis.
