PURPOSE:To shorten a span of downtime by making paper feeding operation so as not to be prohibited as far as a range of up to copying from a sheet cassette, existing at the more downstream side than the jammed spot, and not hindered to the paper feeding at all, when a paper jam has occurred in a paper-feeding conveyor part. CONSTITUTION:Respective paper sensors S201-S204, installed in and around a position where sheets 102, 104, 106, 108 being fed out of each of sheet cassettes 103, 105, 107, 109, detect the sheet left behind in the spot by a paper jam. With this detection signal, a controller prohibits any paper feeding operation from the sheet cassette at the upstream side of the paper sensor position. That is, the paper feeding is controlled so as to be performable in succession from the sheet cassette at the downstream side. |
