Transferring rounded dough portions - by gripper jaws suspended from housing contg. programmed electromagnet controls

Rounded portions of dough are transferred from an initial arrangement, e.g. in concentric rings, into a further arrangement such as parallel rows of depressions holding the portion during raising. The portions are for making rolls. Each piece is transferred while engaged by gripping jaws (327) pivotable about pins (325) below a housing (32) contg. lifting magnets subject to a programmed controller, the housing itself being suspended. Inward and outward pivotal movements of the jaws are dependent on rollers (328) coupled to their inner faces and forced inwards and outwards by the changing gaps imposed by the surface of a tapered slider (324) mounted near the end of an axial shaft (323). Affixed to the end of the sahft is a concave ejector plate (326) which like the dough-contacting surfaces of the jaws is coated with felt. Above the rollers (328) the jaws are embraced by a peripheral spring (329). ADVANTAGE - Dough portions are effectively transferred without sticking to the transfer mechanism.
