A glass container scratch covering agent comprises, as a main component, a product generated by reacting in a solvent a colloidal silica with a silicon compound expressed by the following formula (where x is 0 or 1; R is an alkyl group, a vinyl group, a phenyl group, an aminoalkyl group, an acryloxyalkyl group, a methacryloxyalkyl group, glycidoxyalkyl group, polyoxyalkylene or a polyoxyalkylene alkyl group; R' is an alkyl group or a phenyl group; and R is a lower alkyl group).
