摘要 |
PURPOSE: To use the atmospheric optical communication link for temporarily bridging the cut of an optical fiber network by providing the link with an optical device for expanding a low power laser beam from an optical fiber to transmit it in atmosphere and focusing the received beam on the final end of the fiber to detect a signal. CONSTITUTION: A transmission optics includes a convergent lens 14 arranged so as to directly receive optical energy from the final end of an optical fiber 16. A receiving optics 12 converges light 13 from a transmitter arranged on a remote place into the inside of a Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope 20 and collimates the light by the use of a convergent lens 22. Twenty % of the light beam is reflected by a beam splitter 26, passed through a 500mm convergent lens 32, reflected by a mirror, and focused on a tracing optical diode 36. Consequently the necessity of an exclusive high power laser for transmitting light along a route exceeding two miles through atmosphere can be evaded. |
