PURPOSE: To easily replace a driving shaft broken by an impact load by providing, on the driving shaft drivingly connected to a propeller, a device for cutting the connection of the driving shaft simultaneously with the addition of a predetermined torque. CONSTITUTION: A stern driving device inputs the driving force from an engine to a front horizontal driving shaft 152, transmits it from a bevel gear 164 to bevel gears 204, 206, and further transmits it to a propeller shaft 138 through the driving shaft 200 of a conical clutch assembly 182 connected between the bevel gear 164 and a vertical driving shaft 166, the vertical driving shaft 166 connected thereto by a sleeve 174, and bevel gears 173, 146. The vertical driving shaft 166 has a narrowed part 378 as a cutting part between the upper end and the lower end, and also has a cross-directional inner hole 380, so that it is cut from this part 378 when an excessive load acts thereon to prevent the damage to the other part. According to this, the driving shaft broken by an impact load can be easily replaced. |
