PURPOSE:To prevent staining and damaging of peripherals caused by scattering toner at the time of removal of a toner hopper by providing an electrophotographic device with a shutter which is positioned so as to block or open a toner discharge port according to the rotation of a toner discharging roller. CONSTITUTION:The electrophotographic device is provided with the shutter 33, and a motor controller 36. At the shutter 33, tip end of the shutter 33 is bitten into the toner discharging roller 14, and the shutter 33 is positioned so as to block or open the toner discharging port 15 according to the rotation of the toner discharging roller 14; the controller 36 reversely rotates the toner discharging roller 14 by the prescribed angle when the toner 8 in the toner hopper 9 is run out, and is positioned so as to block the toner discharging port 15. That is, when the toner discharge roller 15 is reversely rotated in response to a signal indicating that the toner 8 in the toner hopper 9 is run out, the shutter 33 bitten into the surface of the toner discharging roller 15 moves to block the toner discharging roller 15. Thus, the toner 8 does not drop from the toner discharging port 15 even if impact is applied thereafter. |
