Wave shed loom - has guide path for shuttle between projecting heald sections

To form a fixed guide path and a positive movement of the weft carrier, through a wave shed loom, the guide path for the shuttle on an open shed is formed by an angled heald section projecting with the heald eye. As the shed is closed, the healed section bears on both sides against an angled wall of the shuttle to give the positive movement. Pref. the healds are made from a flat material, and the head and foot section ride in a guide bed. The heald eyes are at the free ends of heald shaft sections projecting at an angle from the heald shaft. A part section extending from the guide bed, at the foot section is moved into a high or low shed position by a cam guide, with a mirror image shaft section layout. The foot section of the heald shaft is extended by a control length. The length of the heald section with the eye gives a guide path over up to half of the shuttle. ADVANTAGE - The shuttle is given a direct and positive movement while the wave shed action is formed without allowing it to be overfed.
