The shuttering panels (10,12) for forming a concrete structure, are held at the required distance from each other by means of an inverted U shaped clamp (14). This U shaped clamp is formed from two inverted L shaped members (16,18) with the horizontal arm of the one L shape fitting telescopically into the horizontal arm of the other L shape. The distance between the panels (10,12) is adjusted by means of adjusting screws (40) fitted to the lower end of each vertical leg. The force exerted by the pressure of the concrete is resisted by a screwed bar (30) which connects the two vertical legs (16,18) near their upper ends and has a nut (36) at each end.
