The proposal is for an engaging gear for internal combustion engine starters. The engaging gear has a freewheel (8), whose inner race (9) with the starter pinion (10) is arranged in relation to the outer race (7) with the drive bush (5) via an additional axial springing system. During meshing and slippage, especially in the case of tooth-on-tooth contact, the inner race (9) is so unstably engaged with the starter pinion (10) that the starter pinion (10) can more easily enter the next tooth-in-recess position in the starter ring gear (28) of the internal combustion engine to be started. |
