The container for receiving and treating flowable bulk material, partic. in pharmaceutical applications, has a dished base (1) in which an opening (2) for emptying is closed by a flap (3). The flap has a hook (5) which engages a pivot pin (4) and is operated by a piston-cylinder arrangement (6). An outer cylinder (9) on the piston (8) has a sliding seal (10, 11) on the outer surface of the main cylinder, so that pressure medium escaping from the piston aperture of the main cylinder cannot enter the material being discharged. ADVANTAGE - Contamination can be avoided.
